Sergeant Describes Hunt for Insurgents in Haditha, Denies Coverup continues..

Marine said there was no vengeful massacre, but he described a house-to-house hunt that went tragically awry in the middle of a chaotic battlefield.
“He’s really upset that people believe that he and his Marines are even capable of intentionally killing innocent civilians.”

“Once you go back over it, you have to determine if they applied the rules,” the Marine official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the Marine Corps does not discuss rules of engagement. “Did they feel threatened? Did they perceive hostile intent or hostile action?”

This entire event does nothing but underscore the impossibility of our Military’s task. But this hasn’t prevented the media,or the Liberals in joining forces with the enemy and passing quick judgment on our Military in Haditha which they eagerly present as the latest case in a long history of alleged U.S. abuses against the poor, helpless Muzlims.

May I remind you…
In the battle for Fallujah the insurgents had feigned surrender.
They went so far as to wave white flags to approach within killing range of U.S. Marines.

They have a history of positioning their fighters in mosques, as they did in Israel as well.
They place fighters in medical centers and civilian neighborhoods.
They have even sunken to the depths of booby-trapping their own fallen comrades’ corpses and then proceeded to shoot at crews trying to gather and collect the dead.

Every taboo of war has been discarded.
And yes, my friends, there are taboos.

Women, and children have been deliberate targets. Israeli schoolbuses were targeted.
International relief groups were not spared.
Ambulances have been used to smuggle weapons in Iraq as well as in Israel.

A fierce double standard is applied.
While torture and beheading American or European hostages remains a public spectacle in the A-rab world, any suggestion of even displaying images of our deceased enemies is met with disdain and wails from the Lefties bemoaning our “insensitivity”.

Our Marines are fighting lopsided battles and yet U.S. military pressure has brought the resistance to the point of ineffectiveness if not nearly disintegration.

There is no single opponent in this war.
What our Military faces is several armed groups, all operating outside the control of even the state.
There are insurgents, such as the Baathists.
There are criminals, kidnappers, and even random gangs of robbers. There are hostile tribes, foreign mujaheddin seeking martyrdom.
There are faction militias and men simply out to avenge their family’s ahem.. “honor”.

Since the war began, U.S. troops have tried to keep the number of civilian casualties as low as possible, and that is a fact.

Yet the conspiracy-obsessed Liberals, trying to score big with their propoganda victory, still accuse the Americans of reckless disregard for civilian lives.

While amidst the sounds of sniper fire and explosions, I say to our dear Marines and Armed Forces..Shrug off the Liberal insanity men..and soldier on.
