WASHINGTON – President Bush said Monday it was “disgraceful” that the news media had disclosed a secret CIA-Treasury program to track millions of financial records in search of terrorist suspects. The White House accused The New York Times of breaking a long tradition of keeping wartime secrets.
Bush slams leak of terror financing info

RealClearPolitics articulates it brilliantly:

“Why do they hate us? Why does the Times print stories that put America more at risk of attack? They say that these surveillance programs are subject to abuse, but give no reason to believe that this concern is anything but theoretical. We have a press that is at war with an administration, while our country is at war against merciless enemies. The Times is acting like an adolescent kicking the shins of its parents, hoping to make them hurt while confident of remaining safe under their roof. But how safe will we remain when our protection depends on the Times? “

When do the prosecutions begin?

The NYT should be renamed “The Traitor Times.”

It’s really to bad their getting away with this. In another time and place, the hangin tree would have been the answer for such treasonist behavior.

ANGEL, DEAR, PERHAPS YOU ARE RUSHING INTO THIS DECISION OF TRASHING THE TIMES…
WHEN I WAS HOUSETRAINING MY DOG THE TIMES WAS THE PAPER OF CHOICE, IT WAS LARGER THAN MOST AND ABSORBED THE MOST OF MY DOG CONTRIBUTIONS…
I BELIEVE NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!! THE CONTRIBUTIONS ARE STILL FROM MY DOG!!!!!!

  5. Angel says:

Thanks AOW and 4 the little guy for your words.
AB..Hey hangin tree works for me!..how high? :)
lol Karl M…I’ll pass along that utilitarian purpose of the ahem…paper! :)

  6. Brooke says:

I like that hangin’ tree. I’ve got a great big tree in my backyard that volunteers. He wants revenge for the Times’ traitorous use of paper.

The New york Slimes… what can I say? America’s Third World County™ is FULL of large scale chicken houses (chickens outnumber third world countians by at least 100 to 1). Not even in the tons and tons and TONS of chicken manure hauled out for composting (and other less savory uses) can we begin to compete with the chickensh_t produced by the NYT…

Add up alla the chicken houses in the U.S. and ya might come within punting range of the NYT chickensh_t record.

    Maybe.

I do have a cure for the problem, though. It would require legislation legalizing direct reader intervention when a Mass Media Podperson wittingly lies, distorts the truth in any way or even commits traitorous acts like the NYT writers/editors regularly do.

It would require some assembly of the rope, the tree and the Mass Media Podperson, though…

Ever wonder why the US is having such a hard time catching the bad guys? Here’s your answer.

I’m usually not a fan of censorship (ie: freedom of the press and all that….) but I’m willing to make exceptions. The MSM has truely become an Enemy of the State.

When can we expect to see Keller and many others frog-walked out of the NYTimes building?

    Huh? Huh? When?

  10. Angel says:

Thanks everyone for your support and sympathy on this one! :)

Thanks for putting up the Michael Barone article from Real Clear. I’ll have to add that to my post.

People talk about some kind of investigation of the leak that led to this story, but I don’t hold out much hope.

Didn’t the Justice Dept. investigate the leak of the NSA spy story? And nothing happened there either.
