UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - US Ambassador John Bolton said there was no moral equivalence between the civilian casualties from the Israeli raids in Lebanon and those killed in Israel from “malicious terrorist acts”.

Asked to comment on the deaths in an Israeli air strike of eight Canadian citizens in southern Lebanon Sunday, he said: “it is a matter of great concern to us …that these civilian deaths are occurring. It’s a tragedy.”
“I think it would be a mistake to ascribe moral equivalence to civilians who die as the direct result of malicious terrorist acts,” he added, while defending as “self-defense” Israel’s military action, which has had “the tragic and unfortunate consequence of civilian deaths”.
“It’s simply not the same thing to say that it’s the same act to deliberately target innocent civilians, to desire their deaths, to fire rockets and use explosive devices or kidnapping versus the sad and highly unfortunate consequences of self-defense,” Bolton noted.”

And yes …there is a difference between murderous, barbarian, Izlamofascists targeting innocents and Israeli’s who are defending their very lives.

At Sbarros in Jerusalem on August 9th, 2001, when the store was packed with customers in mid- afternoon, a suicide bomber blew himself up and killed 15 people. One little girl’s head actually rolled out of the restaurant a few feet down the street…

I DO NOT NEED MR. BOLTON TO TELL ME THAT ANY CASUALTIES OCCURRING IN LEBANON ARE THE FAULT OF HIZBOWLERS, SYRIA AND I RAN (AWAY BECAUSE I AM A CHICKEN).

Civilian Casualties in Lebanon would be much less if Hezbollah did not keep their arms and bombs in civilian homes.
If you live in a house where they constructed special additions just to store explosives then you have very little to complain about when your family is blown up.
I have absolutely no sympathy for these “civilians”.

The reason for including the above post was we were not given all the facts in the news released earlier on the 18th. May I suggest you bloggers do a little better research today on the 19th and find more on this particular issue and put a corresponding update to this particular article.

How sad and deplorable that Bolton must tell the UN, and reporters, ect. that blowing up people with homicide bombing and a few civilian casualties occuring despite the best efforts of Israel aren’t the same thing.

Two things … those so called Canadians were more then likely dual Hezbollah citizens, and every Hezbollah fighter in lebanon is classed as a civilian in the death count. So if Israel killed a few hundred so called civilians, 95% of them would be Hezbollah.

Bravo for US Ambassador John Bolton to tell it like it is. And to think that the left wing liberals and leftists on the other side of the aisle made it so difficult for Ambassador Bolton’s appointment. Remember how the left had all those conniptions and said how irrational and inappropriate he was. One of the left wing whacko said he yelled at his subordinates. Give me a break!
Looks to me that Ambassador Bolton has done a superb job and brought reality to the appeaser - apologizer - enabler organization, the United (or pronounced eUnuch) Nations. Wish he could clean up the UN completely. (It is like urinating up hill.) Ambassador Bolton reminds me of a true “Rough Rider;” when the going gets tough, the tough get going. And, he has a great mustache.
