Dog Saves Boy from Cougar

In memory of my beautiful and daily missed: Ashley.
Seems just when I lost almost all faith in “humans”…Angel came along to teach me there is still pure love in this world…..
Austin Forman was hauling firewood in his backyard on the weekend - one of the 11-year-old’s weekly chores - when his golden retriever, Angel, began acting strange..
Boy’s dog saves him from cougar
The boy spotted what he first thought was a strange dog emerge from the shadows. Just two metres away, the cat charged at him. “He was like, aw, crap, it’s a cougar.”But Angel was ready - the young dog leapt at the hungry cougar and “took the whack,” Mr. Forman said. The boy escaped inside his home while the two animals battled for several minutes.
“The cougar was latched onto her head, you could hear both the dog and the cougar screaming. Then it went silent.”
“We brought it out on the snow, the dog was laying there lifeless,” he said. As the family gathered, consoling Austin, the dog suddenly sprang up. “She coughed a bit of blood, she started wagging her tail, snuggled up to Austin and licked him.”
Y’all know how I felt about my doggie Ashley sweet friends.
“If there are no dogs in Heaven,
then when I die I want to go
where they went.”
Will Rogers

“Heaven goes by favour. If it went by merit,
you would stay out and your dog would go in.”

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.

If you think dogs can’t count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them.

My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am.
Amen to that.

I have said it hundreds of times….and it bears repeating here.
It is not a coincidence that DOG is GOD spelled backward…
My dog was the ladder from Earth to Heaven….i know she will be wagging her tail when she sees me….

I love this story, Angel. Dogs are intelligent and brave. In fact, they could give a lesson or two to some humans.
Sorry about your dog. Must have been really hard.

Ah Angel, it’s a SMALL WORLD!
I had a yellow lab, Blondie! She was so sweet and adorable…I found her in the alley and rescued her…this was some years ago. I need to dig out her photo’s and scan them and have on the computer, but when I see photo’s of my dear departed doggies and relatives, it depresses me.
This is a great story, I saw on the news the other day!
You write such beautiful things about our best friends!
Another reason why I luv ya (Huggs)

Aww, what a lovely story. I’m so glad that both Austin and Angel are okay. God really knew what he was doing when he gave us dogs as companions, didn’t He? Thanks for sharing this!

Loved that story, Angel. Thanks for sharing it.
We lost our beloved Dax in 2008 and I remember you left a comment about how she and Ashley were now playing together in Heaven. It made me misty-eyed then, and seeing Ashley is making me misty-eyed again.

Aww. I’m such a sucker for a good dog story.
Thanks, Miss Angel.

Great story, but why do people like being licked in the face by a dog?
And just for the record, all the dogs I’ve ever known have counted to four whenever I put three dog biscuts in my pocket.
