When was the last time we had this kind of patriotism in a Political family??? I believe there are 2 Senators and 5 Congressmen with children serving in the military … other than that, I don’t know.

It is so refreshing to hear the National Anthem sung “straight” — without all the silly vocal gymnastics the young stars try to do, which wrecks it every time. God bless this talented young woman (and her father!).

Again, I say she could win AI with that voice. Oh, I just saw a blog called “I Saw the Right” which had a series of pictures of different women from both parties. The Repubs were women like Palin, Coulter, Bachmann, and other such hotties. The Dem women were all old and wrinkly, such as Helen Thomas, Madeline Albright, and on and on. Kind of snarky, but amusing.

Angel, what a beautiful rendention. I remember Ayla well from American Idol. I liked her then. I think I remember that they showed her grandmother’s disappointment when she was voted off (or not voted for enough, so had to leave).
