Good Friends

[audio:Angel Take it Easy clip.mp3]

Sooo..Can ya relate? phone-call-me

Are you a good friend?

Hmmm…Yes, we’re told in order to have a friend you must be a friend.

How deep is your Love. (yea..I hear y’all hummin the Bee Gees..heh)lovers
How broad is your Heart?
Are you inspired to be a friend to all of humanity?

What kind of friend do you want?

Some want someone to catch them when they fall..
Some wish to do the catching..

Some teach us what it is like to be ourselves, and some help us discover ourselves for the very first time..

Some sow seeds ..
Some give faith..
While others are loved for the example they set….

Some are for the shared times, some for the confidences…
Some come into our lives so unexpectedly…
and part just as quickly…..

But even the best of friendships can be lost or destroyed due to neglect or anger or, sometimes, simply circumstances. And yet, with that loss, we often seem to lose a part of ourselves that can never quite be recovered.

Is that what makes the loss so so painful…

In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.
-Albert Schweitzer-

A loyal friend laughs at your jokes when they’re not so good, and sympathizes with your problems when they’re not so bad.
-Arnold H. Glasgow-

The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you’ve had.

What say Y’all sweet friends?

About a year ago -It came to me how rare encouragers are in one’s life-so- every time the name or face of encourager (friend) comes to my mind- I call and thank them…some had ‘tears’ in their voices after I thanked them…

Hmmm? Yah make a fella think and laff!

Maybe when friends leave and take parts of us, it may just be that they are making some room in the heart for someone else to come in and add their portion to what we folks are in need of sharing?

Besides, a good friend can be trusted. I figger things out purdy gud at times, so I theoretically conclude, they are keeping what they have of us safe and protected for the time when we meet up wit them in A Better Place.

Jeez I gotta git outta here, we jadedfellows ain’t su-post to have big hearts.

This here post is just as sweet as you.

In todays world true friends are as rare as hen’s teeth. One is fortunate if he or she has to use both hands to count them.

I’m with the kid. My dog literally fights off my kids when I get home just to be the one to welcome me.

Speaking of which, here’s an interesting joke: Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and see which one is happy to see you.

My policy is to step aside when someone else does/says it better than i do..When it comes to writing with wit and wisdom it is you Angel…When it is singing a certain song..i defer to the writer and singer…take it away…J.T.

James Taylor You’ve Got A Friend

    When your down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.
You just call out my name,
And you know whereever I am
I’ll come running, oh yeah baby
    To see you again.
Winter, spring , summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And I’ll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
    You’ve got a freind.
    If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
I’ll come running to see you again.
    Winter, Spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I’ll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, ain’t it good to know that you’ve got a friend?
    People can be so cold.
They’ll hurt you and desert you.
Well they’ll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don’t you let them.
You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don’t you know that,
    Winter Spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you’ve got to do is call.
Lord, I’ll be there, yes I will.
    You’ve got a friend.
    You’ve got a friend.
Ain’t it good to know you’ve got a friend.
Ain’t it good to know you’ve got a friend.
    You’ve got a friend.
